What is the project about?
De l’erlen’ au fermenteur by Bionet and AD Biotec invites students from BTS Biotechnologies, BTS BioALC and BTSA ANABIOTEC to take part in a unique learning adventure that connects school projects with real bioprocessing practice.
Your mission:
design and carry out a bench-scale experiment in Erlenmeyer flasks. Each team is free to choose its microorganism and the scientific question it wants to explore. The next step is to design how this process could be scaled up to a bioreactor.
Prize
The winning team will receive an F0 bioreactor in their school for one semester (September–December 2026). Bionet and AD Biotec will provide initial training and remote support.
- The unit will be delivered and set up in the school.
- Bionet will provide initial training and remote support.
- The school will have the opportunity to use real bioprocessing equipment for hands-on learning and teaching.
This is a unique chance to bring industry-grade technology into the classroom.
The challenge is to:
- Show what you achieved in your experiment.
- Explain how you would scale the process into a bioreactor.
- Identify which configuration would best support your process.
Throughout the project, you won’t be on your own:
- You’ll have access to scientific support from the Bionet and AD Biotec team.
- You’ll be able to communicate directly with biotech experts through a dedicated Teams space.
- You’ll receive resources, tips, and guidance to help you turn your ideas into a strong project.
The project is organised by Bionet, a manufacturer of bioreactors and bioprocessing technologies based in Spain, together with AD Biotec, their official representative in France.
