The M2 series include tangential flow filtration (TFF) equipment models for the development and scale-up of industrial clarification,concentration, diafiltration and extraction downstream processes and their ultimate integration in industrial scale production activities by the biotech industry.

Moreover, in the production arenas, its design with first-class components and accessories (e.g. the integration of a range of membrane types, lengths and surface areas) allow the use of these M2 models for production batches for a variety of applications, regulatory environments and production volumes.

The M2 can be built and qualified under GMP guidelines for production in regulated industries, including GAMP 5 compliant automation.

THE FLEXIBILITY YOUR DOWNSTREAM NEEDS

The M2 provides an enormous flexibility in the form of the range of options regarding the type of membrane technologies that it can be designed with:

  • There are two possible configurations for MF&UF and for NF&RO
  • For MF&UF two types of membranes, ceramic and hollow fiber can be interchangeably integrated in the same equipment.
  • These membranes are available in a number of configurations:
    • 21 different pore sizes in the microfiltration, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration spaces (from 1.4 µm in the microfiltration space to less than 1kDa in the ultrafiltration space).
    • Different number of channels (in ceramic) and thereby membrane surface area available.

ENSURING YOUR BIOMASS AND BIOMOLECULES QUALITY

The system provides the robustness, precision and delicacy that your bioprocess and the resulting biomass and/or biomolecules require via different mechanisms and components:

  • An exquisite pumping technology that allows the application of a big range of flow rates and transmembrane pressures and flow rates.
  • An excellent temperature control through the jacketed stainless steel tank allows to work with very low temperature to ensure the stability of the product.
  • A wise process design that generates a very small dead volume, leading to the achievement of high concentration factors (CF).

AUTOMATION AS A FRIEND

You can guide the M2 system to operate manually or the M1 will take care of this automatically, pooling powerful tools for a tight control over operative parameters at preset values (e.g. for Transmembrane Pressure, Permeate Pressure), and with ways to calculate, register and manage the data.
