The F1 series include autoclavable bench scale bioreactors/fermenters designed to meet the challenging and widely diverse R&D requirements and small-scale biomolecules production by using microbial and animal cells for biopharmaceutical-, food-, agricultural- and other biotechnological applications.
The F1 bioreactor models combine the highest technological standards of the sector with premium quality and a reduced investment.
Though a serially produced and standardized to combine the highest technological solutions for the common market demands, it is well thought for its expansion and customization towards a range of special requirements. This is possible thanks to:
A modular design, that allows for the expansion of hardware and software capabilities in the form of advanced modules that follow the plug and play concept.
An Advanced Gas Strategy, for automatic mixing of up to 4 gases and their inlet via both sparger and overlay. The plugging of this module will enable software capabilities such as the acidification of the broth (i.e. pH control) via acid or CO2, and the use of N2 as an actuator in the DO cascade.
Air, O2, CO2, N2
Sparger/Overlay
The variable speed pump module, for addition of nutrient in fed-batch processes, which enable further control capabilities in the software such as the addition of nutrient according to growth profiles, and the use of the pump in the cascade control mode of DO.
4, 30, 100 rpm
Bionet’s photobioreactor module includes a light source, required for the growth of photosynthetic microorganisms that generate biomass from light and carbon dioxide, including microalgae and cyanobacteria, among others.
The photobioreactor version of the F1 comes with a flat pannel, which results in the increase of the surface that receives direct light. In the flat pannel, mixing occurs by the circulation of the gas bubbles from the sparger up the rising section and down the downcoming section.
A range of accessories that allow for flexibility in the operation and ease bioreactor handling, such as height-adjustable dip tubes, easy to clean additions nozzles and robust, accessible and interchangeable vessel’s support, among many others.
F1 offers the possibility to upgrade the equipment to GMP standards at the hardware- (i.e. mechanically), software- and documentation levels.
The possibility to perform parallel bioprocessing (with the TWIN version of the equipment).
Its inseparable friend is ROSITA , Bionet’s proprietary automation software for laboratory use, which allows for a sophisticated and tight automatic control over the processes and provides the user with ways to visualize, analyse and manage the data.
